About the studio
Hello! My name is Tamara Ewers and I am the potter behind ewers artisan studio.
Five years I dedicated to my training, which I successfully completed at the Master School for Ceramics and Design in Landshut in summer 2025. Since then, I have been working from my own studio in rural Bavaria.
The studio is located in an old carpentry workshop. This space is part of a living and working community shared with many other craftspeople. This environment, shaped by exchange, skill and creativity, fosters a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere.
My practice focuses mainly on wheel-thrown functional stoneware. Functionality and aesthetics are equally important to me. I aim to create objects that feel good in the hand, serve their purpose well, and quietly enhance everyday life. Through my work, I seek to reflect the beauty found in the small moments of life and to create ceramics meant to be used and enjoyed daily.
Alongside form, a further focus of my work lies in the glazes that complete and refine each piece. During my master´s training, I developed a deep passion for glaze development, a practice I continue to explore and refine in my own studio.
The glazes used on my ceramics are characterized by stone-matte, natural tones and surfaces that invite touch. They are developed not only for their visual depth, but also for their durability, offering a tactile surface made to endure regular use.
